Job summary

Oxford Learning Richmond is seeking a part-time High School Math Teacher/Tutor to deliver pre-planned lessons to students in grades 9–12. The role is in-person, teaching up to three students at a time, with a short commute to Richmond, BC.

Evening and some weekend hours are required (Mon–Fri 3:00 pm–7:00 pm; Sat 9:00 am–1:00 pm). Applicants should hold a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and be comfortable following Oxford Learning methodologies, with strong English communication.

Qualifications

  • Experience tutoring maths to grades 9–12; strong math skills and ability to guide student understanding.
  • Strong written and oral English communication.
  • Ability to work with up to three students simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Teach up to three students at varying levels in a collaborative, coaching style.
  • Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
  • Complete post-lesson notes and daily student communication updates.
  • Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor at all times.
  • Participate in campus-wide training and feedback sessions.

Job Overview

High School Math Teacher/Tutor – part‑time position available at Oxford Learning Richmond. You will teach pre‑planned lessons to students in grades 9‑12, working with up to three students at a time. The role is in‑person and requires a short commute to Richmond, British Columbia.

Position Requirements
  • Availability: Monday – Friday, 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm; Saturday, 9:00 am – 1:00 pm.
  • Commitment to the term ending in June (continuation into summer preferred).
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently without prior lesson planning.
  • Vulnerable sector screening required.
  • No relocation package available; must reside in or near Richmond.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a relevant field.
  • Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience considered.
  • Teaching certification is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of current grades 9–12 mathematics curriculum, including advanced functions, algebra, trigonometry, calculus, and vectors.
Experience
  • Experience teaching or tutoring maths to grades 9–12 (or equivalent).
  • Strong written and oral communication in English.
  • Excellent math skills and ability to guide student understanding.
  • Capacity to multitask and engage up to three students simultaneously.
