High School Math Teacher/Tutor at Oxford Learning Centres Inc.
Overview
Oxford Learning West Vancouver is seeking part-time teacher-tutors to work with students in our learning centre. This role involves teaching up to three students at a time, both online and in-person, following Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
Responsibilities (Position Details)
- Teach up to 3 students at a time at different levels
- Teach online and in-person
- Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
- Filling in post-lesson notes
- Complete daily student communication updates
- Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times

Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
- Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
- Teaching certification is an asset
- Good knowledge of the current Grades 9-12 math curriculum (including advanced functions, algebra, trigonometry, calculus, vectors)
Experience
- Some experience teaching/tutoring math at Grade 9–12 (or equivalent)
- Strong English written and oral communication skills
- Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
- Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
Schedule and Location
- Evenings (3:30pm – 6:30pm)
- Monday to Friday
- This is an in-person position in West Vancouver; relocation packages are not available
Additional Details
- Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory
- Commitment until the end of the term in June is preferred; continuing through the summer is a plus
- Must be able to commute to the West Vancouver location
