Oxford Learning Waterdown is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic tutor to work with high school students in Grade 11 & 12 Math, Physics, and/or Chemistry. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys helping students build confidence, strengthen problem-solving skills, and achieve academic success.

Oxford Learning Waterdown offers part-time roles with after-school and evening hours (3:00 pm - 7:30 pm), twice a week, in a supportive learning environment that emphasizes independent

Qualifications

  • Strong academic background in math and/or science (physics/chemistry).
  • Currently pursuing or completed a degree in a related field (e.g., engineering, science, math, education).
  • Comfortable teaching senior-level high school concepts.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to explain concepts clearly.
  • Patient, encouraging, and student-focused approach.
  • Experience tutoring or working with students is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Teach high school students (Grades 11 & 12) math, physics, and/or chemistry
  • Support students in understanding complex concepts and developing strong problem-solving skills
  • Guide students through curriculum-based material, homework support, and test/exam preparation
  • Encourage independent learning, critical thinking, and effective study habits
