Job summary

Oxford Learning Stoney Creek is looking for a part-time High School Math & Science Teacher to join our team in Toronto, Ontario. Ideal candidates are passionate about teaching and helping students enhance their skills in mathematics and science.

Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s degree in a math/science related field and have some teaching experience, preferably with students in Grades 7-12. The role involves tutoring after school and on Saturdays, and vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

High School Math & Science Teacher

Oxford Learning Toronto Beaches is seeking part‑time teacher‑tutors for our learning centre. This role is ideal for those who enjoy working with students, love mathematics and science, and are passionate about helping others develop these skills.

Position Requirements

All teacher‑tutors work during after‑school and evening hours. Hours are Monday‑Thursday 3:00 pm‑8:00 pm and Saturdays 9:00 am‑2:00 pm. A commitment until the end of the school year and continuing through the summer is preferred. This is an in‑person role; candidates must be able to commute to the location. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in a math/science related field
  • Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
  • Teaching certification is an asset
  • Good knowledge of the current Grades 7‑12 Ontario math and science curriculum, particularly senior‑level math (Advanced Functions, Calculus, Data Management, Physics)
  • Knowledge of biology and chemistry is a strong asset
  • Proficiency in French is a strong asset
Experience
  • Some experience teaching/tutoring math and science at a Grade 7‑12 level
  • Experience working with students ages 12‑17 required
  • Strong English written and oral communication skills
  • Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
  • Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
Responsibilities
  • Teach up to three students at a time at different levels
  • Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
  • Complete daily student communication updates, including post‑lesson notes
  • Maintain a friendly, patient, and professional manner at all times
