Job summary

Oxford Learning Burlington North in Burlington, Ontario, is seeking part-time High School Math & Science (Physics) Teacher/Tutor for Grades 9-12.Role involves after-school hours, in-person sessions, and tutoring up to three students at a time.

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree (teaching certification a plus) and strong English/math skills, with experience in Grades 9-12 math and physics preferred. Compensation is $20–$24 per hour. Relocation not offered.

Qualifications

• Strong English written and oral communication skills.
• Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding.
• Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time.

High School Math and Science (Physics) Teacher/Tutor Wanted

Gain valuable teaching experience! Oxford Learning Burlington North is currently seeking part-time teacher-tutors for a role in our learning centre. This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys numbers and equations, and is passionate about helping others build their skills in these areas.

Teacher-tutors at Oxford Learning do not have to lesson plan before class, as all lessons are pre-planned. Applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods.

Position Requirements

All teacher-tutors at Oxford Learning work during after-school and evening hours Monday-Thursdays (3:00pm - 8:00pm) as well as some Saturdays (9:00am - 12:00pm). Teacher-tutors work a 3 or 4 hour shift and must be available 2-3 evening per week. A commitment until the end of the term in June is preferred. Continuing through the summer is even better. Your students will love working with you, and being reliable is a must.

This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. Relocation packages are not available. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Education

• Third or Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
• Teaching certification an asset
