Job summary

Rocky View Schools (RVS) invites applications for a temporary full-time Learning Assistant at Bert Church High School in Airdrie, starting immediately until June 29, 2027. The role supports diverse learners in classroom and school settings under supervision of teachers and the principal.

Responsibilities include implementing individualized strategies, data collection, aiding with medical/personal care tasks as needed, promoting independence and safety, and contributing to a collaborative team

Qualifications

• Educational Assistant Certificate or a certificate/diploma in a related field.
• Training in preventative/de-escalating behaviour, or willingness to become certified.
• Minimum one year experience working with students with challenging behavior is considered an asset.
• CPR/First Aid Certification or willingness to become certified is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance to students per individualized plans including needs such as personal care, lifts, transfers and safety.
• Implements strategies as directed by teachers and documented in student plans.
• Records observations and data on behavior to guide positive behavior strategies.
• Participates in collaborative planning meetings for student planning.
