Job summary

Hitachi Energy Hamilton is seeking an entry-level technician to join our transformer repair team. You'll assist skilled tradespeople, support shipping/receiving, and gain hands-on experience with tools, equipment, and procedures in a collaborative, safety-driven environment.

This role requires a high school diploma, comfort with physical tasks, the ability to read drawings and BOMs, and teamwork. Forklift and MEWP licenses are assets; willingness to work rotating shifts is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Experience in a semi-skilled trade is preferred.
• Ability to read drawings and bills of materials.
• Comfortable with physical tasks (lifting, bending, pushing/pulling).
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• WAH training is an asset; forklift and MEWP licenses are assets.

Responsibilities

• Assist transformer repair operations under supervision.
• Perform basic mechanical/logistical tasks following procedures.
• Operate forklifts and cranes when required.
• Pick up and deliver materials using shop truck.
• Support shipping and receiving when needed.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and dispose of waste per standards.
• Label and store dismantled materials accurately.
• Monitor dry air pressure on stored units.
• Contribute to safety and quality improvements.

Starting salary: 31.53$ / hour. Must be willing to work on rotational shifts every 2 weeks (Monday to Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm and Monday to Thursday 3:30 pm - 2:00 am)
