Role Description & Key Responsibilities

This is a full-time, onsite role, located in the National Capital Region, just outside of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. As the Operations Manager, you will oversee the operation of flight personnel and aircraft, ensuring safety and efficiency. This role works closely with the Chief Pilot, Director of Maintenance, and Director of Business Development to ensure smooth operations of company aircraft.

  • Manage fleet operations and oversee all contract activities, ensuring adherence to all terms, obligations, and timelines for the seamless performance of HTSC flight operations staff;
  • Develop and administer operating procedures in accordance with Canadian Aviation Regulations, Standards, and Company Policies;
  • Overseeing the management and updates of company manuals to align with Transport Canada regulations and company-specific standards;
  • Assist the Chief Pilot in managing flight crew scheduling, recruitment, and pilot training programs;
  • Engage with flight crew on aviation safety hazards, events, and incidents, ensuring accurate reporting and timely follow-up;
  • Perform regular line pilot flying duties in the field (if required);
  • This role will involve periodic away-from-base travel (up to 4 weeks per year).

Required Qualifications :

  • 5 years of previous management experience in the aviation sector, specifically managing aircraft operations;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with proficiency in English;
  • Self-motivated with strong leadership and decision-making competencies, works well in a collaborative, fast-paced environment;
  • The legal right to work in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Previous experience as Operations Manager or Chief Pilot Rotorcraft;
  • 5+ years of rotary wing flying experience (flight training experience and ACP accreditation will be considered assets);
  • Type rating and PIC experience on single-pilot or multi-crew / multi-engine helicopters;
  • Current and valid Canadian Group IV Instrument Rating;
  • NVG (NVIS) qualified and current;
  • Language proficiency in French.
