Job summary

Wajax in Fort McMurray seeks an experienced field service technician to perform testing, diagnosing, repair and maintenance of heavy equipment on-site at customer locations. You will handle transmissions, engines and components, communicate needs for authorization, and maintain service records.

Responsibilities include electrical and mechanical repairs, paperwork completion, and ongoing safety training to ensure a professional, safe customer experience. 2–3 years of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Trade certification and Red Seal status or active apprenticeship program.
• 2–3 years of work experience.
• Strong communication and customer service abilities.
• Analytical thinking and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and diagnose components and equipment for servicing needs.
• Communicate servicing needs with owners and obtain authorization.
• Service and repair equipment both in the shop and on-site for the customer.
• Recondition and remanufacture components as required for equipment, engine and hydraulic repairs.
• Establish and maintain strong working relationships with customers.
• Communicate work performed and complete service paperwork.
• Update and maintain service records and fill out warranty information.
• Complete work orders and participate in health & safety training.
