Job summary

Ledcor is seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Technicians to support our Fort MacKay, AB operations on the CNRL Albian Reclamation project. You will maintain a fleet including haul trucks, loaders, dozers, and excavators to keep equipment safe, reliable, and ready for the job.

This project-based role offers 14 days on / 14 days off shifts, 12-hour days, camp accommodations, charter flights from Edmonton or Calgary, and outdoor work in varied weather conditions. Join Ledcor’s True Blue team.

Qualifications

• Hands-on repair experience with mining/heavy civil equipment.
• Apprentice or Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification.
• Strong hydraulic, electrical and mechanical knowledge.
• Ability to read schematics and use diagnostic tools.
• Experience with CAT, John Deere and Komatsu preferred.
• Willingness to work day and night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy mining equipment (haul trucks, loaders, dozers, excavators).
• Perform scheduled maintenance and inspections for safety and reliability.
• Repair components to OEM standards for CAT/John Deere/Komatsu equipment.
• Complete service records and communicate status to operations.
• Work safely with tools and equipment following site procedures.
• Collaborate with team to prioritize repairs and minimize downtime.

Essential Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy mining equipment includinghaul trucks, loaders, dozers, and excavators
• Perform scheduled maintenance and inspections to keep equipment running safely and efficiently
• Repair and replace components to OEM standards, with a focus onCAT, John Deere, and Komatsu equipment
• Complete service records and communicate equipment status to operations teams
• Work safely with tools and equipment, following all site safety procedures
• Collaborate with mechanics and operations to prioritize repairs and minimize downtime

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in heavy equipment repair (mining or heavy civil preferred)
• Apprentice or Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician Certification
• Strong knowledge ofhydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
• Experience reading schematics and using diagnostic tools
• Experience withCAT, John Deere, and Komatsuequipment strongly preferred
• Must be available for day / night shifts

Work Conditions

• Project based position working 14 days on and 14 days off, working 12 hours per day
• Work is anticipated to be completed in April 2027 with potential for extension
• Camp accommodations
• Chartered flights from Edmonton or Calgary
• Work will be primarily outdoors and in various weather conditions
