Job summary

Ledcor is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Technician to support our operations at the Fort MacKay project, AB. You will diagnose, repair, and service a fleet of haul trucks, loaders, dozers, and excavators to keep equipment safe and productive.

You will perform maintenance, read schematics, and work with OEM standards on CAT, John Deere, and Komatsu equipment while coordinating with operations to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in heavy equipment repair (mining or heavy civil preferred).
• Apprentice or Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician Certification.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Experience reading schematics and using diagnostic tools.
• Experience with CAT, John Deere, and Komatsu equipment strongly preferred.
• Must be available for day / night shifts.

• Repair and replace components to OEM standards, with a focus on CAT, John Deere, and Komatsu equipment
• Complete service records and communicate equipment status to operations teams
• Work safely with tools and equipment, following all site safety procedures
• Collaborate with mechanics and operations to prioritize repairs and minimize downtime

Essential Responsibilities

Work Conditions

• Project based position working 14 days on and 14 days off, working 12 hours per day
• Work is anticipated to be completed in April 2027 with potential for extension
• Camp accommodations
• Chartered flights from Edmonton or Calgary
• Work will be primarily outdoors and in various weather conditions
