Job summary

Northwestern Polytechnic in Grande Prairie seeks a Heavy Equipment Technician instructor to lead the Apprenticeship program. This is a full-time annual position starting October 26, 2026, within the School of Skilled Trades.

The successful candidate will deliver instruction, develop curricula, and collaborate with the Teaching & Learning Centre to support student success in a polytechnic learning community. A Red Seal/Journeyperson credential is required.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson or Red Seal certification required.
• Experience teaching apprenticeship programs is preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational abilities essential.

Responsibilities

• Instruct Heavy Equipment Technician apprentices in classroom and shop settings.
• Develop lesson plans, assessments, and instructional materials for the Apprenticeship program.
• Collaborate with the Teaching & Learning Centre and other departments.
