Job summary

Matrix Camps & Logistics seeks experienced Heavy Duty Mechanics for its Winter Ice Road project in Bathurst Inlet, Nunavut. You will join a maintenance team responsible for keeping a diverse surface fleet operation-ready in extreme northern conditions.

Required Red Seal or Journeyperson certification, 3–5 years mining equipment maintenance experience, and proficiency with CAT ET/CAT SIS. Perks include paid flights, hotel accommodations, and per diem.

Job description

Winter Ice Road Project in Nunavut - 3/3 - Paid Flights + Hotel + Per Diem - Up to $850/day - Bathurst Inlet, NU

Matrix is seeking experienced Heavy Duty Mechanics for their Winter Ice Road project in Bathurst Inlet, Nunavut. These mechanics will join a maintenance team responsible for keeping a surface fleet of loaders, dozers, excavators, graders, SnowCats, haul trucks, and more operating safely and reliably in challenging northern conditions. The ideal candidate is a Red Seal or Journeyperson mechanic with strong CAT systems knowledge and a proven track record in mining equipment maintenance.

What You'll Need

• Red Seal / Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic certification
• 3-5 years of mining equipment care and maintenance experience (minimum)
• Demonstrated experience maintaining surface fleet equipment
• Strong working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical and electrical systems, and diesel powertrain components
• Proficiency with CAT ET and CAT SIS
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, hydraulic schematics, and manufacturer service manuals
• Valid safety training/certifications as required (e.g., WHMIS, LOTO, confined space)
• Experience working in remote and northern/cold conditions
• Valid driver's license (if required by location)
