Job summary

Randstad Canada in Millet, Alberta is seeking a yard loader/operator to manage steel pipe with wheel loaders and keep a safe, orderly pipe yard. You will load, unload, rack, stack, and secure loads while coordinating with swampers and yard staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on wheel loader experience handling steel pipe.
• Experience loading, unloading, racking, stacking, sorting, and tallying pipe around trucks and trailers.
• Strong knowledge of pipe-yard safety and material-handling best practices.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to work outdoors in all weather.

Responsibilities

• Operate wheel loaders (Komatsu WA250/WA320, Hyundai HL770) to load, unload, rack, stack, sort and collar steel pipe.
• Stage and move materials to maintain a safe, clean, and organized yard.
• Work with swampers during loading/unloading to ensure correct load position and securement.
• Tally and verify incoming/outgoing pipe shipments; perform regular inventory counts.
• Perform daily loader inspections and identify maintenance or safety issues.
• Contribute to general pipe-yard duties and coordinate with yard staff to maintain smooth operations.
