Job summary

Perma-Pipe in Camrose, Alberta is seeking dependable Loader Operators to support our manufacturing facility. You will move materials with skid steers and bucket loaders, load piping per production schedules, and perform pre‑operation checks to ensure safe, efficient operations.

The role requires 10‑hour shifts, overtime, and the ability to work Monday to Friday with weekends as needed. A high school diploma is preferred, and a pre‑employment drug test is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must pass pre-employment drug test.
• Experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Operate skid steers and large bucket loaders to move materials safely within yard and facility.
• Load, unload, and transport piping materials according to schedules.
• Perform pre-operation inspections and routine maintenance checks on equipment.
• Ensure safe handling practices to protect materials and property.
• Support yard organization and inventory flow.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and production personnel to coordinate material flow.
• Follow all safety policies and wear required PPE.
• Assist forklift operators in loading and offloading pipe.
• Participate in safety/toolbox meetings and training.

We’re looking for dependable and skilled Loader Operators to support operations at our Camrose manufacturing facility. This position plays a key role in the movement and handling of materials, ensuring that production areas remain organized, efficient and safe.

Qualifications

Essential Job Functions

General Duties

• Operate skid steers and large bucket loaders to safely move raw materials, finished products, and production supplies within the yard and facility.
• Load, unload, and transport piping materials according to production schedules and supervisor direction.
• Perform pre-operation inspections and routine maintenance checks on equipment.
• Ensure safe and efficient handling practices that prevent damage to materials or property.
• Support inventory control and yard organization by staging and storing materials properly.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, forklift operators, and production personnel to coordinate material flow.
• Follow all Perma‑Pipe and OSHA/Canadian OHS safety policies, including the use of required PPE.
• Report any mechanical issues, safety hazards, or incidents immediately to supervision.
• Assist Forklift Operators in loading and offloading pipe
• Perform pipe rack construction and maintenance
• Assist in preparation for truck loading and offloading
• Participate in safety/toolbox meetings
• Participate in on‑the‑job training and any additional training
• Maintain proper housekeeping in assigned work area
• Other duties as required

Qualifications & Skills

• Knowledge of the standard methods, materials, tools, equipment and procedures utilized with all coating types – a plus but not required
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions which are applicable to the work – a plus but not required
• Ability to work overtime
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Must be able to pass pre‑employment drug test
• Experience a plus – but NOT required

Physical Demands

• Raise/lower or move objects horizontally.
• Frequent wrist/hand motions.
• Ability to respond quickly to sounds.
• You must move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
• Visual acuity required for accuracy and thoroughness of work.
• Standing/walking for more than 90% of shift, including long distances.
• Ability to work in extreme weather.

Education & Certifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or one year community college preferred.
