Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. in Moose Creek, ON is seeking a heavy equipment operator to safely operate wheel loader and excavator at our site. You will load soil into trailers, perform daily inspections, and grease/maintain equipment.

You must communicate with the team by radio and maintain safe, compliant work practices on site. Expected to work year-round 50+ hours per week, with adherence to safety standards and company policies.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy equipment, specifically wheel loader and excavator.
• Ability to work daily, year round 50+ hours per week.
• Must read, speak, understand and write English.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment to load soil into trailers.
• Perform daily inspections and maintenance checks on equipment.
• Grease and lubricate equipment; check and add fluids daily.
• Steer, guide and operate listed equipment at assigned site.
• Substitute for other operators as needed.
• Clean tracks and gear mechanisms daily or as needed.
• Communicate with crew via two-way radio about work activities and priorities.
• Comply with laws and company policies; maintain appearance of grounds and facility.
• Attend safety and branch meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
