Job description

Impala Canada is the owner and operator of the Lac des Iles Mine, located 90 minutes northwest of Thunder Bay, Ontario. In operation for 30 years, the LDI Mine is one of only two known pure palladium sources in North America. Palladium contributes to a cleaner global environment, with its leading use in catalytic converters that reduce harmful emissions from gas-powered and hybrid vehicles.
The LDI Mine features a unique ore body and modern infrastructure, including underground and surface mining and milling operations. The LDI Mine is in Robinson-Superior Treaty territory, and the land on which we operate is the traditional territory of the Anishnaabeg and the Métis. Job Description:

1. Operation of a production haul truck and water truck
2. Maintain, troubleshoot and repair all water lines (including pit dewatering) and access roads
3. Perform duties in a safe and responsible manner
4. Maintain a safe work environment
5. Follow company policies and legislative standards
6. Ability to effectively communicate any hazards or concerns to supervisor; 14x14 rotation; Crew 1, 2, 3, 4

Qualifications:

1. Surface miner common core
2. Must have MTCU module for haulage truck
3. Experience with power tools, chainsaws, water pumps, and gen-sets is considered an asset
4. Proficient in the operation of various heavy equipment in a mine operations environment is considered an asset
5. Verbal and written proficiency of the English language
6. Able to perform manual labor
7. DZ License is considered an asset; Class G at a minimum
