Fox Harb’r Resort is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to operate and maintain heavy machinery on-site along the Nova Scotia coast. The role involves site preparation, excavation, grading, lifting materials, and strict adherence to safety regulations.

Candidates should have experience with excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, and backhoes, with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform under pressure while following directions and ensuring a clean, organized work area.

Qualifications

• Experience operating excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, and backhoes.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Excellent vision and dexterity.
• Strong understanding of safety guidelines and procedures.
• Capacity to provide and follow direction, with sound decision-making under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Maneuvering motorized heavy equipment to remove and place materials accurately.
• Loading and offloading rocks, debris, and other materials from heavy equipment.
• Observing safety codes at all times.
• Communicating with coworkers to clarify project specifications when needed.
• Reporting injuries and accidents to the manager.
• Advising the manager on upgrades, repairs, and replacements.
• Assisting coworkers to keep the site clean and organized at end of shifts.

General Description: The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining large machinery. This includes equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, and backhoes. The role involves performing site preparation, excavation, grading, lifting, and material handling while ensuring safety regulations and operational standards are strictly followed
Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience operating a variety of heavy equipment.
• Certified Heavy Equipment papers
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Excellent vision or the use of prescribed lenses.
• Exceptional manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• A sound understanding of pertinent safety guidelines
• Capacity to provide and follow direction
• Sharp decision-making skills, particularly when under pressure

Responsibilities
