THE OPPORTUNITY
We are currently recruiting for an Experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join a well-established heavy equipment organization in Woodbridge, Ontario.
This is a hands-on, shop-based role responsible for diagnosing, repairing, inspecting, maintaining, and preparing heavy construction, paving, roadbuilding, municipal, and compacting equipment. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and heavy equipment repairs.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Diagnose and repair heavy equipment, paving equipment, compactors, rollers, pavers, and related machinery
- Troubleshoot diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, drivetrains, brakes, and steering
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, adjustments, and repairs
- Prepare equipment for customer delivery, rental, sale, demonstration, or return to service
- Complete warranty repairs, inspections, and pre-delivery inspections
- Identify required parts, repairs, and safety concerns
- Complete work orders, service reports, time entries, and inspection documentation
- Coordinate with the Service Manager and Parts Department to complete repairs efficiently
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment
- Follow all company safety procedures and equipment handling requirements
REQUIREMENTS
- Previous experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, Shop Mechanic, or Field Service Technician
- Strong experience with hydraulics, electrical diagnostics, diesel engines, and mechanical repairs
- Experience with paving, roadbuilding, municipal, construction, or compacting equipment is an asset
- 421A or 310T license is an asset; equivalent experience will be considered
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Comfortable using computers or service software for documentation
- Valid driver's license preferred
