Job summary

MasterTech seeks Diesel Technicians (310T or 421A) in Fergus, ON. This hybrid shop and field service role requires travel across Southern Ontario and occasionally Western Canada, performing maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on drilling equipment in both shop and field settings.

The position offers CAD 40.00–55.00 per hour, with per diem on travel assignments and travel time/costs covered. Ideal candidates have 5+ years of heavy equipment experience and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience on off-road heavy equipment (mining, construction, forestry, drills, etc.).
• Experience with diesel trucks is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Willingness to travel overnight when required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on drilling equipment.
• Work in both shop and field environments with travel across Southern Ontario.
• Collaborate with teams to ensure reliability and safety during service calls.

Job description

MasterTech is on the search for Diesel Technicians (310T or 421A) in the Fergus ON area.

This is a hybrid shop and field service opportunity. Travel is required mainly throughout Southern Ontario, and occasionally throughout Western Canada. Work includes maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs to drilling equipment in shop and field environments.

Compensation:

• $40.00 - $55.00/hour based on related experience, training, certifications, etc.
• Per diem when on travel assignments. Travel time and costs compensated.

Shift:

Day shift, Monday to Friday.

Key Qualifications:

• 5 or more years of experience working on off-road heavy equipment (mining, construction, forestry, drills, aerial, earthmoving, etc.) and/or diesel trucks.
• 310T or 421A, or Interprovincial Red Seal is preferred.
• Good understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Highly proficient with electrical is preferred to secure higher wages.
• About to commit to overnight travel assignments when needed.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
