Job summary

DECAST, a leading Canadian infrastructure manufacturer, is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic in Utopia, ON. You will perform preventive maintenance and repairs on industrial equipment, working both independently and in a team to keep equipment in top condition.

Required are Red Seal certifications (421A or 310T) with extensive diesel equipment experience, plus strong English communications. Competitive hourly pay and a comprehensive benefits package are offered.

  • Red Seal credentials required (421A or 310T) with extensive heavy equipment experience.
  • Experience with diesel lift-trucks, loaders and related equipment.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, fabrication and welding is a plus.
  • English reading/writing and clear communication in English.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain lift trucks and heavy equipment via preventive maintenance and repairs.
  • Work as part of a team in a busy shop environment.
  • Complete assigned maintenance and repairs in a timely manner.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team in Utopia, ON. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic is responsible for performing preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment, machinery, and vehicles effectively and efficiently. Working independently and as part of a team to maintain the operating condition of industrial mobile equipment including preventative maintenance and repair using tools and devices consistent with the mechanics trade as well as power lifting devices.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Maintenance of lift trucks and various heavy equipment by regular preventative maintenance and repair
  • Work as a team member in a busy shop environment
  • Complete assigned maintenance and repairs in a timely manner
Skills, Education & Experience
  • Red Seal Heavy Duty Equipment Technician Mechanic (421A) OR Red Seal Truck and Coach Technician (310T) with extensive equipment experience
  • Experience with diesel lift-trucks, loaders, and other heavy equipment
  • Experience working with Diesel Mi-jack Gantry Cranes repair and maintenance considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, fabrication, and welding is an asset.
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks and suggest corrective action.
  • Ability to learn new techniques and adapt to change.

  • Range of pay for this position is $46.66 - $51.09 per hour
