Job description

What Is The Opportunity?

Under the supervision of the Service Manager, the Heavy‑Duty Equipment Technician will be responsible for preventative/corrective maintenance, inspections, modifications, installation/dismantling of systems, and diagnosing/repairing drill rigs, piling equipment and earthmoving construction equipment. The Heavy‑Duty Equipment Technician will be based out of our Cambridge, Ontario shop.

What You'll Do Here
  • Ensure all Workplace Safety, Environmental and National Safety Code Policies and Regulations are being adhered to.
  • Read diagrams/schematics and manufacturers repair manuals for work procedures.
  • Operate a hoist and lift device to position machinery parts in a safe manner.
  • Inspect and examine equipment.
  • Lubricate, service, diagnose, repair, assemble, and maintain equipment.
  • Perform timely and accurate diagnosis and repair including computer connection/diagnosis with machine to identify fault codes.
  • Perform hands‑on maintenance and repairs of all equipment.
  • Maintain and repair cranes, piling drill rigs and earthmoving construction equipment.
  • Diagnose electrical, mechanical and hydraulic issues.
  • Make repairs according to the manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Suggest positive changes to policy and procedures as required.
  • Demonstrate initiative, diligence and reliability.
  • Self‑starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Other duties as required.
What You Bring To The Team
  • 5+ years of experience as a Red Seal Licensed Heavy Duty Equipment Technician (421A).
  • Experience repairing cranes and piling drill rigs is considered a strong asset.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must comply with the company’s drug & alcohol program, including testing requirements.
  • Fewer than 6 demerit points on driver’s abstract.
  • Excellent mechanical knowledge.
  • Physically fit, heavy lifting required.
Compensation

Hourly Wage: $46.00 – $56.00 per hour.
