Base pay range
CA$38.00/hr - CA$50.00/hr
Weinrich Contracting Ltd. is seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Technician to join our growing team! If you have experience working on heavy-duty equipment, are passionate about diagnosing and repairing complex machinery, and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you. You’ll be responsible for keeping our fleet of machines—everything from scrapers to grader—in top working condition so we can keep moving on our heavy civil construction projects.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- 3rd or 4th year Heavy Equipment Tech or Journeyman with a minimum of experience working on heavy-duty machinery, including excavators, dozers, graders, and haul trucks.
- Mechanical Expertise: You know engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and drive trains inside and out. You're comfortable diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical issues quickly and efficiently.
- Equipment Knowledge: You have a broad understanding of a wide range of heavy equipment, including those used in civil construction, excavation, road building, and site prep.
- Preventative Maintenance: You’re proactive about conducting regular maintenance checks, keeping an eye on wear and tear, and ensuring that machines are always in optimal working condition to avoid costly downtime.
- Welding & Fabrication (Bonus): If you have welding or fabrication skills, that’s a bonus! Experience with welding, plumbing, or hydraulics will come in handy in keeping equipment in top shape.
- Problem-Solving Skills: You enjoy troubleshooting and resolving mechanical challenges, and you work efficiently to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
- Team Player: You collaborate with other mechanics, operators, and project managers to ensure that all equipment is functioning properly and on time.
Valid Certifications & Tickets
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (or higher) is required.
- WHMIS and CSTS20 (or willingness to obtain).

Schedule
- Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM (with the possibility of extended hours during busy seasons).
- Occasional weekend work depending on project needs.
- This is a full-time, year-round position with competitive wages and benefits.
