Job summary

BURNCO Rock Products Inc. is hiring a Heavy-Duty Red Seal Mechanic to join our BC Interior team. You know your craft and take pride in your workmanship, driving change and improvements to keep our fleet safe and productive.

This role offers competitive wages: $42-$45 per hour, Monday to Friday, plus a 6% RRSP match and strong health benefits. You will lead a maintenance team and oversee preventative maintenance for the ready-mix fleet, complying with provincial regulations.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Red Seal or Provincial Certification is required.
• Experience in the Ready-Mix field is an asset.
• Proficient with Office 365 applications.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Preventative Maintenance Program and Repairs for Ready-Mix Concrete Fleet, including mixer trucks and wheel-loaders.
• Maintain fleet per Provincial Regulations, including service records and documentation.
• Oversee a team of mechanics and maintenance staff including Journeyman and Apprentices.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You Will Be Doing

Key Accountabilities

The primary areas of responsibility include:

• Oversee Preventative Maintenance Program and Repairs for Ready-Mix Concrete Fleet, including Mixer trucks, Wheel-loaders, and various mobile equipment
• Maintain fleet as per Provincial Regulations, including service records and applicable documentations
• Oversee a team of mechanics, maintenance staff including Journeyman and Apprentices
• Other duties as assigned

What We Would Like from You

• Journeyman Red Seal or Provincial Certification
• Experience working in the Ready-Mix field is an asset
• Proficient with Office 365 applications
• Strong mechanical aptitude with effective interpersonal skills
• Experienced with Electrical, Hydraulic and Pneumatic system repairs and maintenance
• Class 5 license with clean Drivers Abstract required
• Class 1 or 3 license with clean Drivers Abstract an asset
• Follow and lead safe work practices
• Physically fit with the ability to work in conditions which may include varying weather and heavy lifting (50 lbs / 23 kgs)
