Job summary

Finning Canada is seeking Field experienced Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanics to support TNDC across the Golden Triangle on a 14x14 continuous shift. You will troubleshoot, repair and rebuild CAT mining equipment including Rock Trucks, D9/D10 dozers, 395 excavators and graders while working at multiple TNDC sites.

You must possess Interprovincial HET certification (Red Seal preferred) and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Customer-focused Heavy Duty Mechanic with Red Seal endorsement preferred.
• Interprovincial Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) Certification required or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• 10+ years off-road mechanical experience recommended.
• Experience repairing Caterpillar mining equipment (e.g., 793 Haul Trucks, 6015/6040/6060 shovels, D9/D10 dozers, 395 excavators, graders).

Responsibilities

• Field diagnosis and running repairs of Caterpillar equipment in active mine environments.
• Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily.
• Perform large-scale overhauls and rebuilds and component replacements.
• Complete technical documentation and maintain clear customer communication.
• Interact with customers, sales support, and Finning team.

Job Description:

As a Heavy Duty Mechanic supporting multiple TNDC work sites, you’ll troubleshoot and repair a variety of Caterpillar mining equipment such as Rock Trucks, D9 and D10 dozers, 395 Excavators & Graders; leveraging your technical expertise to build trust, solve challenges, and keep our customers equipment moving.

• Field diagnosis and running repairs of Caterpillar equipment in an active mine environment

• Interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team

• Valid driver’s license with a successful recent drivers abstract
• 10+ Years Off Road Mechanical Experience Recommended
• Previous repair experience on the Caterpillar mining and general line product lines 793 Haul Trucks, 6015, 6040 and 6060 Shovels, D9 and D10 dozers, 395 Excavators, and 18 Graders

Important Details:

• This role supports our Northwest BC Mining customers (Skeena and Tahltan Nation Development Corporation) on a 14x14 Shift
• A condition of employment is the ability to obtain Customer Site access (Drug & Alcohol, fitness testing) and wear a respirator where applicable
