Qualifications

  • 2nd Year or Higher Mechanic with experience in Heavy Duty, Millwright, or Automotive repairs.
  • Must have adequate tool selection for Mechanic Trade and be organized.

Job description

Heavy Duty / Millwright / or Automotive Mechanic

2nd Year or Higher

Torrent Fluid Solutions is looking for a local, full-time 2nd Year or Higher Mechanic, with experience in Heavy Duty, Millwright, or Automotive repairs and services.

The Mechanic is responsible for performing skilled tasks in the mechanical repair and maintenance of engines, hydraulics, transmissions, and electrical systems powering heavy duty, medium duty, and stationary equipment.

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Servicing and maintaining skid steers, trailers, large water pumping equipment, heavy-duty equipment, light automotive, track machines, and ATVs
  2. Diagnose, troubleshoot, service, lubricate, repair, assemble, and maintain units in a timely and effective manner
  3. Keep informed of changes to industry standards
  4. Verify repairs and ensure they are completed and documented
  5. Responsible for daily job communications and documentation
  6. Maintain a safe and clear work environment
  7. Follow Torrent’s Procedures and Policies
  8. Ensure Torrent’s standards are being followed
Skills
  1. Oil & Gas Industry knowledge
  2. Ability to weld
  3. Knowledge and experience with wiring
  4. Ability to read and understand equipment and vehicle repair manuals
  5. Able to exert moderate to high physical effort for lifting heavy parts
  6. Attention to detail for equipment maintenance and daily documentation
  7. Highly energetic, self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  8. Able to multi-task and prioritize with high attention to detail
  9. Strong written and verbal communication
  10. Experience servicing and maintaining stationary equipment
  11. Experience servicing and maintaining automotive and light duty equipment
  12. Able to work in a physically demanding environment and exposure to outdoor weather conditions
  13. Safety oriented: Able to work safely and keep a clean work environment
Qualifications
  1. Heavy Duty Mechanic, Industrial Mechanic, or Service Technician Certification an asset
  2. Gas Technician experience an asset
  3. Instrumentation experience an asset
  4. Required Tickets: Standard First Aid, H2S, and CSO
  5. Must be willing to work in the field when required
  6. Must have adequate tool selection for Mechanic Trade
  7. Organized with the ability to prioritize all job tasks
  8. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  9. Skilled in problem-solving techniques
  10. Experience working in the Oil & Gas Industry
  11. Able to perform role without direct supervision
  12. Must be physically fit – heavy lifting required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Depending on experience.
