Job summary

The Mosaic Company is seeking a Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic for onsite work in Colonsay, Saskatchewan. You will service surface and underground equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure safety in all tasks. A Red Seal certificate is required, with mining/industrial experience considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Servicing surface and underground mobile equipment as part of a maintenance team.
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and routine servicing.
• Lubricate, diagnose, adjust, repair and overhaul equipment as required.
• Follow procedures and policies; report deficiencies in writing or verbally.
• Maintain safety for self and others in field, shop or underground environments.
• May work a shift rotation including weekends.

Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic

• Where will you work: Onsite – Colonsay, Saskatchewan (Colonsay is located approximately 42 miles from City of Saskatoon, with an average driving time of about 45 minutes)
• Shift Schedule – 4/4/10
• Hourly: $63.42, As per CBA

What you’ll do?

Reporting to the maintenance supervisor you will work as part of a team and be responsible for servicing the surface mobile equipment and/ or the underground mobile equipment fleet. Work safely in an industrial environment and able to follow the procedures and policies that are in place. Perform preventative maintenance inspections, lubricate, diagnose, adjust, repair and overhaul as required. Basic computer skills and ability to communicate and report any deficiencies or corrections noticed during routine maintenance or inspections either verbally or in writing. Willingness to learn and gain adequate knowledge and experience through training. Play a critical role not only ensuring your own safety, but the safety of others. Be able to work in the field, shop or underground. This position may work a shift rotation requiring weekend work.

What you’ll need:

• The successful applicant must hold a Interprovincial Journeyperson Red Seal certificate.
• Previous experience in a Mining or an Industrial Environment is an asset, (2-3 years).
• Employment is subject to successfully completing Mosaic's pre-employment checks including criminal, drug and alcohol testing.
• Must be authorized to work in Canada.
