We are looking to add to our team an experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic to work in the Fort McMurray area.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintenance and repair of on-road and off-road equipment (from tractor-trailers to mining equipment); diagnose faults or malfunctions.
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure work meets manufacturers’ specifications, legislated regulations, and service reports.
• Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems.
• Interpret work orders and technical manuals; record each job task on a work order.
• Keep equipment cleaned, lubricated, and maintained; clean working environment.
• Attend standard service calls to the site or other locations.
• Record each inspection with a 20-point inspection guideline for heavy-duty equipment.

Requirements

• Journeyperson Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician.
• 5 years experience as a Journeyperson.
• Must have own transportation to travel to and from a worksite.
• Must have own tools and a lockable toolbox.
• Full Class 5 License.

Other Project Details:

• Rotation: 7×7, 12 hours per day with overtime available.
• Physical ability to lift 50 pounds or more; prolonged standing, walking, lifting, squatting and bending.
• Able to perform work in adverse weather conditions, including hot, cold and inclement weather.
