Job summary

Elk Valley Resources (EVR), part of the Glencore Group, is seeking candidates for Heavy Duty Equipment Technician Apprentices for future openings in the Elk Valley region of British Columbia. You will support maintenance of mining equipment in shop or field settings, on a 4x4 day/night rotation, with relocation options to Sparwood area.

This role requires 3rd or 4th year registration as an HD Equipment Technician Apprentice and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Must be registered 3rd or 4th year Heavy Duty Equipment Technician Apprentice.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Experience with off-road heavy equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repair major breakdowns; troubleshoot and diagnose.
• Disassemble and reassemble components such as engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and fuel systems.
• Diagnose, maintain and repair mobile mining equipment including haul trucks and excavators.
• Work with brands like CAT, Komatsu, P&H, Hitachi.
