Job summary

Elk Valley Resources (EVR) in British Columbia is seeking a Supervisor Maintenance, Facilities to oversee site facilities maintenance at Elkview Operations. You will lead a crew of labourers and trades, supervise contractors, and ensure compliance with the BC Mines Code and EVR’s safety policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with Journeyperson ticket or Engineering degree.
• Journeyperson ticket and/or related technical diploma are preferred.
• Experience in execution, planning and scheduling maintenance activities.
• Supervisory or team-leading experience is an asset.
• Technical understanding of equipment maintenance and maintenance strategies.

Responsibilities

• Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies.
• Advise troubleshooting of equipment failures to determine root cause and corrective action.
• Coordinate maintenance and repair of assets to improve production availability and reliability.
• Manage daily and weekly work schedules to ensure on-time, on-budget completion.
• Supervise and improve employee performance and efficiency, ensuring quality standards.
• Assist in sourcing supplies, equipment, and services within budgeted guidelines.
• Maintain accurate repair history and documentation for work performed.
• Oversee vacation schedules and approve overtime as needed.
• Recommend contractor needs and supervise contractors as required.
• Lead unionized workers and coordinate with external partners.
• Develop and implement maintenance strategy for the site with cross-functional teams.
• Track and report KPIs of maintenance processes and systems.
• Identify opportunities for maintenance improvements and share best practices.
