Job summary

GreatWest Kenworth in Calgary, AB is seeking a skilled Truck Mechanic to service and repair heavy trucks at our on-site locations. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain equipment to meet manufacturers' specifications.

The role requires 3–5 years of experience, a secondary school certificate, and a Red Seal Endorsement. You will complete maintenance reports, read work orders, and train colleagues as needed. This is on-site work in outdoor, noisy environments across various locations.

Qualifications

  • Secondary high school graduation certificate is required.
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in heavy truck maintenance preferred.
  • On-site work with no remote option.
  • Red Seal endorsement is preferred or required for certification.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts
  • Keep maintenance reports and documentation
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work
  • Perform repair work on heavy trucks
  • Write maintenance reports
  • Train or assist in the training of other workers
  • Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems
  • Read and interpret work orders
