Job summary

GFL is seeking a 310T Diesel Mechanic to inspect, maintain, repair, and rebuild heavy‑duty diesel trucks and related equipment in our Canadian shops. You will diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure assets meet safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Valid 310T Truck & Coach Technician license.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a diesel mechanic.
• Experience with diagnostic software is a strong asset.
• Strong computer literacy and willingness to learn new systems; safety-focused.

Responsibilities

• Diagnostics & Repair: Diagnose and repair operational issues on heavy-duty diesel trucks and equipment, including diesel, CNG, gasoline, and electric-powered units.
• Preventive Maintenance: Perform thorough maintenance and repairs to ensure fleet reliability.
• Administrative Tasks: Complete work orders, repair reports, and parts requests; perform required administrative tasks daily using fleet maintenance software.
• Planning & Coordination: Plan and schedule repairs using the M5 planner and procure required parts; review mechanical write-ups and coordinate schedules with operations.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure all work is completed in a safe manner in full compliance with company and regulatory safety requirements.
• Tool & Shop Maintenance: Maintain and utilize a variety of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment; keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
• Operational Support: Follow all company policies and procedures, and perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
