Job summary

Timmins company is seeking a heavy-duty equipment mechanic to repair, troubleshoot, overhaul and maintain mobile heavy machinery used in transportation, forestry, and related activities. This is an on-site role based in Timmins, Ontario.

You will diagnose faults with computerized testing equipment, adjust equipment, replace defective parts, and verify performance to meet manufacturers' specifications. Routine maintenance and service of attachments are included.

Qualifications

• Experience with heavy-duty equipment in transportation/forestry sectors.
• Ability to diagnose faults using computerized testing equipment.
• Proficient in using hand and power tools for repair and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Repair, troubleshoot, adjust, overhaul and maintain mobile heavy-duty equipment.
• Check equipment for proper performance and inspect for faults and malfunctions.
• Diagnose faults using computerized testing equipment to determine repair scope.
• Adjust equipment and repair or replace faulty parts to meet specs.
• Test repaired equipment to ensure proper performance per manufacturer specs.
• Perform routine maintenance and service attachments and tools.

Duties

Heavy-duty equipment mechanic repair, troubleshoot, adjust, overhaul and maintain mobile heavy-duty equipment used in transportation, forestry, and similar activities.

• Check heavy equipemnt for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
• Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using hand and power tools
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications
• Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment
• Service attachments and working tools such as harvesting and tillage equipment, blades, ploughs, winches and side booms
• May perform repair work on heavy trucks
