Job summary

Cavendish Farms is seeking a Training Specialist to develop, deliver, and improve training programs across manufacturing operations.

You will partner with site teams to ensure employees have the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to work safely and effectively, while leveraging data and adult-learning principles to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Education, Adult Learning, HR, Business, Organizational Development, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in training, learning and development and workforce development.
  • Experience developing, delivering, and evaluating training programs for diverse employee groups.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain training programs, procedures, and materials that support operational, safety, and compliance requirements.
  • Lead the design and continuous improvement of training content using adult learning principles, competency validation, and employee feedback.
  • Monitor training compliance, participation, and effectiveness, ensuring training requirements are maintained by role, site, and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze operational data, training results, incidents, and trends to identify training gaps and improvement opportunities.
  • Partner with site leadership and operational teams to promote consistent training practices and standardization across locations.
  • Conduct audits of training records, systems, and processes to ensure data accuracy, compliance, and program effectiveness.
  • Support change management initiatives through communication, coaching, training delivery, and user adoption activities.
  • Provide guidance and support to site teams on training processes, continuous improvement opportunities, and best practices.

Job Description

Cavendish Farms is seeking a Training Specialist to support the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of training programs across our operations. This role will partner with site teams to ensure employees have the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to perform their work safely, effectively, and consistently. The successful candidate will leverage data, adult learning principles, and continuous improvement practices to enhance training effectiveness, support compliance requirements, and drive operational excellence across multiple locations.

Work Location

Position can be based in Lethbridge, AB; Jamestown, ND; Wheatley, ON; or New Annan, PE.

Salary Range

$61,500 - $82,000

Working Conditions
  • Combination of office and plant environment with exposure to manufacturing conditions
  • Up to 25% travel required to support training and safety initiative across different locations

Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in Education, Adult Learning, Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in training, learning and development and workforce development
  • Experience developing, delivering, and evaluating training programs for diverse employee groups.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, and training best practices.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, coaching, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and learning, compliance, or business management systems.
  • Health & Safety experience or related certifications (CRST, NCSO, NEBOSH, etc.) are considered assets but are not required.
  • Ability and willingness to travel within Canada and the United States; valid driver's license required
