Job summary

Magna Exteriors is seeking a Health & Safety professional to champion a safe workplace in a manufacturing setting in Ontario. You will ensure compliance with ISO 45001, conduct risk assessments, and lead safety training across departments.

With 5+ years in health and safety, you will engage employees, drive safety initiatives, and maintain a culture of continuous improvement in a large automotive supplier environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of health and safety experience in a manufacturing environment.
• College or University Certificate/Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
• Understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practices.
• Excellent organization, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to take initiative, lead change, and manage multiple priorities.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and safety data management systems.

Responsibilities

• Champion a safe and healthy workplace and maintain ISO 45001 standards.
• Be a trusted resource for employees, addressing safety concerns and hazards.
• Advocate for well-being and ensure safety issues are addressed promptly.
• Participate in the Joint Health and Safety Committee and safety culture initiatives.
• Collaborate with operations and leadership to keep safety front and center.
• Support new programs and equipment launches with risk assessments and pre-start reviews.
• Develop and lead engaging H&S training for employees.
