Job summary
Sasco Contractors Ltd. is seeking a Health & Safety Officer to champion safe work practices across projects in British Columbia. You will drive COR certification, lead incident investigations, and mentor field teams on hazard identification and risk assessment.
The role requires an NCSO designation or equivalent, strong WorkSafeBC knowledge, and proven experience in safety program management, audits, and training delivery. A COR-certified culture supports career growth and safety excellence.
Qualifications
- National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) designation or equivalent.
- Experience managing COR programs and audits.
- Experience interpreting and applying WorkSafeBC regulations and occupational health and safety legislation.
- Strong communication skills with multiple stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Lead the organization's occupational health and safety matters as SME.
- Promote Sasco's 'Safety is Everyone's Business' culture.
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and safety observations.
- Manage COR certification and internal audits.
- Coordinate incident investigations and corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver safety training and orientations.
- Prepare safety performance reports for leadership.
