Job Responsibilities:
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establish & maintain systems for managing P&F safety and environmental programs in compliance with applicable laws and standards.
- Identify, initiate, and present employee safety & environmental training.
- Maintain ISO-14001 certification in Canada.
- Annually review safety/environment policies with the Maintenance Manager.
- Monitor operations for compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation, and recommend improvements.
- Review accident/incident reports and ensure corrective actions are taken.
- Coordinate activities of the Health, Safety & Environmental and Ergonomic Committees.
- Communicate mandatory Personal Protection requirements and review them regularly.
- Support all HSE questions and ensure successful audits of P&F tools, dies, and systems.
- Develop HSE standards that meet legal and P&F requirements.
- Keep senior management informed on health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Ensure a safe and clean workplace.
- Plan HSE manpower requirements, scheduling, and training.
- Create a succession plan and develop your team.
- Develop procedures to comply with government, legal, and company standards such as IATF & ISO-14001.
- Apply policies and procedures consistently and involve impacted departments in changes.
- Implement standardized work and prioritize plans contributing to P&F success.
- Meet commitments and communicate alternatives when unable to meet deadlines.
- Continuously improve departmental systems and processes.
- Address issues proactively to meet standards and promote the Magna Employee Charter.
- Perform additional duties as needed.
