YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

You will be reporting to the Health & Safety General Supervisor, and will be part of the Health and Safety Department. You will provide health and safety support and leadership to successfully run health and safety programs across various areas of the mine. You will also ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and the environment.

• Ensure that safety standards are maintained, track and investigate accidents, and compile statistics.
• Responsible for induction, training, and organizing required training to meet departmental standards.
• Observe and instruct on safe work practices and procedures.
• Ensure the site executes and complies with the elements of the Health and Safety Management programs.
• Prepare safety-related reports and update H&S statistics.
• Develop training initiatives as part of health, safety, and wellness programs.
• Identify, monitor, and correct health and safety hazards.
• Provide technical advice and guidance on health and safety issues.
• Monitor employee adherence to safety regulations and enforce proper protocols.
• Promote safe and healthy working conditions and develop strategies to control risk.
• Perform periodic site inspections to assess risk and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Understand health and safety goals and work with the HSR Manager to develop targets.
• Support safety meetings, develop procedures, and manage standards.
• Provide guidelines for safe work, including standards, procedures, and JHAs.
• Support inspections and audits for the HSR department, JHSC, and other committees.
• Manage incident reporting and data structuring.
• Develop health and safety standards, procedures, and conduct Job Hazard Analysis.
• Ensure site compliance with local and national legislation.
• Deliver induction and orientation for new employees.
• Inspect, audit, and evaluate health and safety systems, workplace conditions, and practices.
• Develop health and safety materials for presentations, including videos and PowerPoints.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

• High School Diploma
• Degree or Diploma in OHS is an asset
• Experience in Mining Operations or relevant experience required
• Working knowledge of EHS software
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations for Mines and Mining Plants
• Trade certification or designation is an asset
• CRSP Designation is an asset
• Train-the-Trainer certification is an asset
• Leadership experience and training are assets
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint
