As a Health and Safety Coordinator at Pomerleau Construction, your mission is clear: to protect lives, one protocol at a time. Working on large-scale construction projects—from $1.5 million to over $1 billion—you'll ensure that health and safety on our sites and in our offices is not just a policy, but a way of life.

What You Will Do

1. Be the pioneer for site health and safety, guiding project teams and fostering compliance.
2. Lead project-specific standards, promoting Pomerleau’s H&S standards, OH&S Acts, Regulations, and Codes with your team and trade partners.
3. Participate from project kickoff to closeout—craft plans, lead meetings, identify hazards, and celebrate team successes.
4. Conduct regular site inspections to ensure safety standards are met.
5. Lead incident investigations, analyze high-risk elements, and report findings to your Regional H&S Manager.
6. Foster a culture of prevention and build an environment focused on accident prevention.
7. Respond to emergencies, implementing safety protocols effectively.
8. Train, mentor, and coach team members on H&S best practices.
9. Analyze safety data to identify patterns and recommend improvements.
10. Support the maintenance of Pomerleau’s COR Standards across sites.

This role could be for you if you have

1. 3-5 years of hands-on Health & Safety experience in construction.
2. Educational background in Occupational H&S, risk management, or industry experience.
3. Experience or familiarity with Certification of Recognition (COR) and IHSA.
4. Experience supporting marine construction or large-scale Oil & Gas/LNG projects is an asset.
5. Strong people management and relationship skills.
6. Proficiency with computer programs for tracking and monitoring H&S.
7. Professional designations such as NCSO, CRSP, or CRST are assets.

The expected salary range is $97,000 - $120,000, depending on experience and location. Compensation includes salary plus extensive benefits, excluding bonuses.
