We are seeking a talented On-site Health, Safety, and Environment Lead to join our team at Accelera by Cummins Inc in Mississauga, Ontario.

In this role, you will make an impact by :

• Promoting a positive safety culture through active safety awareness and coaching.
• Engaging employees in developing and implementing health, safety, and environmental programs.
• Providing technical expertise to improve hazard prevention and risk control measures.
• Supporting daily operations by solving complex health, safety, and environment issues.
• Leading hazard and risk assessments to identify improvements and compliance gaps.
• Designing and maintaining hazard prevention and control systems.
• Developing and leading training and internal communications on hazard prevention.
• Evaluating data to develop improvement plans using a risk-based, data-driven approach.

Responsibilities

• Stakeholder management skills, anticipating and balancing needs.
• Courage to address difficult issues.
• Ability to drive engagement and motivate others.
• Knowledge of effective work processes and continuous improvement.
• Experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis.
• Understanding of Health, Safety, and Environment Management Systems and standards.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

Degree from college, university, or equivalent. HSE-related degree or certification preferred.

Experience

Intermediate experience in industrial safety standards and risk control implementation. Minimal management experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Understanding of Ontario H&S Act and O.Reg. 851.
• Familiarity with CSA Z432 and CSA Z460 standards.
• Knowledge of Hydrogen safety is an asset.
• Experience with Ministry of Environment protocols is an asset.
