Qualifications

Forbes Bros Ltd.

is seeking an experienced Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Advisor to support our team on various transmission projects based out of Manitoba and Ontario.

The HSE Advisor will work onsite at various projects and collaborate daily with Operations and the project/operations Management team. The successful candidate will serve as the main contact for health and safety issues across projects and worksites in North America. This role requires willingness to travel to project sites as needed and flexibility to accommodate project hours and schedules.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote Forbes Bros. value of WE WORK SAFE & never compromise on safety in all activities
  • Guide field employees and foremen on proper and safe work execution according to standards
  • Act as a change agent towards a Zero Injury/Occupational Illness culture
  • Assist with hazard assessments, workplace inspections, incident investigations, and compliance evaluations
  • Develop safety performance measures and implement the HSE Strategic Business Plan
  • Lead or support safety meetings, training, orientations, corrective actions, and initiatives
  • Collaborate with clients on Safety Plans, Hazard/Risk Registries, JSA, and HSE audits
  • Support WCB Ability Management processes
  • Address HSE issues with internal and external stakeholders
  • Work with teams to identify and implement safety improvements
  • Manage incident prevention, training compliance, and safety concerns with Operations Management
  • Report incidents, client HSE concerns, and regulatory issues
  • Develop job safety analyses and safe work procedures
  • Engage workers and supervisors actively to improve safety performance
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned
What We Are Looking For
  • 5-7 years of full-time HS&E experience in industrial environments, preferably electrical utility and construction
  • NCSO certification required; CRSP designation preferred
  • Knowledge of HS&E Management Systems and audit tools (COR, OHSAS 18001, CSA Z1000, ISO 14001)
  • Competency in equipment safety, working at heights, grounding, crane operations, and rigging
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate ownership of safety culture
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean five-year abstract
  • Willingness to travel frequently and work flexible hours as required
