Job summary

Engineered Air is seeking a Health and Safety Advisor in Calgary to strengthen our safety program and support ongoing growth. You will coordinate training, update safety documentation, and assist with incident management while ensuring compliance across the facility.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years in OH&S, relevant education, and professional certifications or a plan to obtain them; Alberta driver’s license is preferred for travel to site locations.

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years experience in Occupational Health & Safety.
  • Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent.
  • CRSP/CRST designation preferred or pursuing.
  • Safety Officer designation preferred (MSO or NCSO).
  • Train-the-trainer certification in forklift, overhead crane, scissor lift, fall protection, and rigging.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate health and safety training including certifications and new hire orientations.
  • Develop and update toolbox meetings, memos, PowerPoint training courses, bulletins, SWPs, HAA's & policies.
  • Support JHSC with education and resources.
  • Update safety matrices and statistics accurately and promptly.
  • Ensure incidents are reported and support WCB claims.
  • Address non-compliance and hazards with corrective actions.
  • Follow up on incidents and corrective actions.
  • Conduct facility inspections and complete safety inspection reports.
  • Maintain Safety Boards and weekly Lost Time Injury statistics.
  • Keep plant safety binders current (SDS, SWPs, HAA, Training, Safety Manual).

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate health and safety training, including certifications and new hire orientations.
  • Development and updating of toolbox meetings, MEMO's, PowerPoint Training Courses, Bulletins, SWP's, HAA's & Policies.
  • Support JHSC with education and resources.
  • Timely and accurate updating of all required safety matrixes and statistical information.
  • Ensure incidents are reported and offer administrative support for WCB claims.
  • Address non-compliance and hazards with corrective actions.
  • Follow up on incidents and non-compliance and recommend corrective actions.
  • Conduct facility inspections, complete safety inspection reports, and follow up on corrective action items.
  • Maintain Safety Boards and weekly update "Days without Lost Time Injuries' statistics."
  • Ensure plant safety binders are current, including SDS, SWP, HAA, Training, and Safety Manual binders.
Qualifications / Experience
  • 2 -3 years experience working with the Occupational Health and Safety discipline.
  • Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent industry experience.
  • Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or Canadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST) designation preferred. However, will accept someone who is committed to professional growth and is either pursuing or prepared to obtain a CRSP or CRST designation.
  • Safety Officer designation. Manufacturing Safety Officer (MSO) or National Construction Safety Officer is preferred.
  • Train-the-trainer certification in all or some of forklift, overhead crane, scissor lift, fall protection, and rigging an asset.
