The High River General Hospital Auxiliary Term Care Centre (LTC) is home to 50 Elderly Residents. Nestled 66.5 kms south of Calgary in the beautiful community of High River, Alberta. The vibrant High River Hospital offers an excellent rural caregiver opportunity in a unique and diverse Alberta health services care facility. The Health Care Aide (HCA) in LTC works in a Resident Family Centered Care environment that focuses on meeting the comprehensive and complex care needs of the Residents and their families in a home-like setting. The HCA will work diligently to enhance the Residents' activities of daily living by providing compassionate, resident-centered care.
As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you will work as a collaborative member of the multi-disciplinary team providing personal assistance, including supporting activities of daily living and support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short-term assistance or ongoing support, in accordance with the patient care plan and facility policies and procedures. You will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers across the continuum of care in home, community, or healthcare facilities, assisting nurses with routine care to meet hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation, and safety needs. Your responsibilities include assisting with organized activities or programs, observing and reporting on a patient's mood, health, and wellbeing, and maintaining a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Effective communication with patients and health professionals is essential.
