This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to provide quality patient care on units 71/72 at the Foothills Medical Centre. The patients and families served include those waiting for transfer to an alternate care setting in the community and acute medicine patients. Our patients will have complex, diverse, stable, and unstable care needs. The Health Care Aide will assist in providing direct patient care, including activities of daily living, ensuring comfort and safety, assisting with feeding, and collaborating with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver high-quality patient care. The successful candidate will work on both units 71 & 72.
Description:
As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you will work as a collaborative member of the multidisciplinary team providing personal assistance and support services to patients (clients, residents) requiring short-term or ongoing support, according to the patient care plan and facility policies. You will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers across home, community, or healthcare settings, assisting nurses with routine care to meet hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation, and safety needs, supporting organized activities, and observing/reporting on patient mood, health, and wellbeing. Under the supervision of a regulated health professional, you will help maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors, and communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
