Role Description

We’re excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for aHealth & Safety Specialistto join our client’s teamon-sitefor the construction of a Data Centre in the Greater Toronto Area. This is afull-time contract role, expected to last approximately18 months, with the potential for extension based on the evolving needs of the project and Terrapex.

The ideal candidate will have7+ years of hands-on Health & Safety experience in construction, with demonstrated expertise in managinghigh-risk activitiessuch as electrical safety and critical lifts. A strong understanding ofconstructor responsibilitiesand a validNCSO designation, or equivalent.

As theon-site Health & Safety representative, you’ll work closely with project staff and subcontractors to promote a proactive safety culture that prioritizes the well-being of every worker. You’ll ensure all safety programs meetregulatory requirementsand align with the client’selevated safety standards, which exceed basic compliance.

As asubject matter expert, you bring a passion for health and safety, take initiative, and lead with confidence and integrity—upholding the highest standards of excellence on site.

Qualifications

• Develop strategic roadmap, timing, and periodicity of safety deliverables for project
• Manage safety deliverables identified for project delivery
• Understand and train team for client-specific reporting requirements for incidents and worker hours
• Provide communication expectations with project team
• Participate in site safety walks
• Participate in site meetings such as OAC, GC orientations, foreman meetings, GC safety meetings. List not inclusive
• Team guidance and leadership
• Must have a deep understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Construction Regulation, Industrial Establishments Regulation and related regulations and their applicability
• Must have working knowledge of and ability to implement electrical safety procedures with a deep understanding of CSA Z462 (NFPA 70e) and the control of hazardous energy sources
• Additional safety training such as OSHA 10 or 30-hour for Construction or General Industry, 24-hour or 40-hour HAZWOPER is a plus
• Proficient with management/supervision of high-risk activities including electrical safety, excavation, fall protection, material handling and crane operations
