As a health and safety coordinator on Pomerleau's construction health and safety team, you will be responsible for implementing activities planned in the prevention program framework for large-scale building and infrastructure construction projects, ranging from $1.5 million to over $1 billion. You will support all site personnel, actively participating in the planning, organization, and control of site activities to eliminate hazards at the source, in collaboration with the Health & Safety Manager, Superintendents, and Foremen, as well as partners.

What You Will Do

1. Ensure compliance with safety standards required by the project's prevention program framework.
2. Participate in developing and updating the prevention program for the construction site.
3. Oversee mechanisms for coordinating activities among employers on-site.
4. Identify hazardous situations and act proactively.
5. Inspect work sites regularly.
6. Ensure workers are aware of hazards associated with their work.
7. Receive and investigate accident reports.
8. Accompany inspectors during site visits.
9. Serve as the health and safety reference for workers and supervisors on site.
10. Order work stoppages if necessary.
11. Participate in site committee meetings and record minutes.
12. Ensure compliance with partner prevention programs.
13. Prepare and complete OHS reports, documents, and statistics; follow up on notices of non-compliance.
14. Greet workers on site.
15. Ensure inspections of site equipment and machinery meet requirements.
16. Cooperate with CNESST and other visiting organizations.
17. Collaborate with the Health and Safety Representative (HSR).
18. Compile and report safety statistics monthly.
19. Participate in various OHS meetings.

This role could be for you if you have

1. Post-secondary education in health and safety (asset).
2. Certificate or attestation recognized by CSST.
3. Minimum 3 years' experience in construction industry health and safety roles.
4. Experience and knowledge of construction projects.
5. Fluency in French and English (spoken and written).
