Key Responsibilities

We have an exciting opening for a Health and Safety Coordinator. Reporting to the General Manager of Community Services, this individual plays a crucial role in developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive corporate wide Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) strategic and risk management compliance program that aligns with organizational objectives. This position will be a combination of both office and field work. If you are looking for both a challenging and rewarding position, then this is the opportunity for you!

Requirements

You have a post secondary diploma or certificate in the field of health and safety combined with a minimum of four (4) years experience as a safety officer and are a AMHSA Certified Auditor with a minimum of three (3) years auditing experience. You have a good working knowledge of all federal and provincial Health & Safety legislation, regulations including Workers Compensation Board (WCB). You have proven ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders. You take initiative and exhibit both integrity and professionalism while representing the County. Your have excellent organizational, communication and problem-solving skills. You enjoy working collaboratively with a wide range of people. You possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable abstract.
