Engineered Air is looking for a motivated, results-driven individual to join our team as a Health and Safety Advisor at our Calgary location. This position offers a great opportunity for individuals with some experience. You will work under the direction of a Health and Safety Supervisor to help develop, implement, and improve a comprehensive and compliant safety program. Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate health and safety training, including certifications and new hire orientations.
  2. Develop and update toolbox meetings, MEMOs, training courses, bulletins, SWPs, HAAs, and policies.
  3. Support JHSC with education and resources.
  4. Update safety matrixes and statistical information accurately and timely.
  5. Ensure incident reporting and support WCB claims administration.
  6. Address non-compliance and hazards with corrective actions.
  7. Follow up on incidents and non-compliance, recommending corrective measures.
  8. Conduct facility inspections, complete safety reports, and follow up on corrective actions.
  9. Maintain Safety Boards and weekly updates on Days without Lost Time Injuries.
  10. Ensure plant safety binders are current, including SDS, SWP, HAA, training, and safety manuals.

Qualifications / Experience:

  1. Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent industry experience.
  2. CRSP or CRST designation preferred.
  3. Safety Officer designation, with MSO preferred.
  4. Train-the-Trainer certifications (Forklift, Scissor Lift, Overhead Crane, Rigging, Fall Protection) preferred.
  5. 5+ years of experience in Occupational Health & Safety.

  1. Ability to make critical decisions in complex, high-risk situations.
  2. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  3. Effective prioritization and multitasking abilities.
  4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  5. Strong communication skills, tactfully and professionally dealing with others.
  6. Leadership skills to support safety team growth.
  7. Ability to liaise and collaborate effectively.
  8. Open to suggestions and focused on continual improvement.
  9. Valid Alberta driver's license.
