Job summary

Trans-Frt McNamara, located in Ayr, ON, seeks a General Manager to lead operations and drive growth. The role reports to the Co-President and collaborates with executive leadership to steer strategy, optimize resources, and enhance customer service across North America.

Ideal candidates bring a strong transportation background, bilingual English/French, and 8–10 years of senior leadership plus 10+ years in team leadership and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years experience as a senior leader in the transportation industry.
• 5+ years with P&L management.
• Bachelor's degree in business administration or related fields.
• 5+ years experience in customer, supplier relations and negotiations.
• 10+ years managing teams, training, coaching, hiring, performance management and mobilizing teams.
• Strong communication skills in English and French.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day activities of the company and drive operational efficiency.
• Manage transportation financial records, budgeting, forecasting, and labour planning.
• Develop strategic asset planning to optimize operations and resources.
• Promote safety culture and ensure health, safety and risk management compliance.
• Direct dispatching, routing, and tracking of transportation assets.
• Monitor KPIs and drive continuous process improvements across departments.
