Job summary

AquaEye, a fast-growing leader in autonomous sonar solutions, seeks a hands-on Head of Machine Learning to own and advance our product algorithms. You will steer ML strategy, oversee end-to-end development, and solve challenging embedded ML problems powering our AI-enabled sonar devices.

You will lead data governance, model evaluation, and ML Ops while collaborating with Product, Engineering, and exec leadership to shape the AI roadmap and ensure production readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, CS, Math, Physics, or a related field.
• 5–10 years of experience in machine learning, AI, and software development.
• Experience with embedded ML on hardware / IoT devices.
• Strong proficiency in Python, with PyTorch and Scikit-learn.
• Experience translating real-world applications and customer needs into ML solutions.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Lead ML teams and deliver products with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute our machine learning strategy aligned with product and business objectives.
• Lead the design, development, validation, deployment, and lifecycle management of ML models.
• Oversee data strategy, labeling, quality governance, and dataset lifecycle.
• Drive product innovation with cross-functional leadership and customer demonstrations.
